Where the data comes from

GoldSilverRate is an independent aggregator. We collect the indicative daily retail gold and silver rates that are published publicly for Indian cities, the kind of city rate that jeweller associations and public rate trackers put out each day, and present them consistently for 136+ cities. We do not set rates, we do not sell metal, and we do not give investment advice.

What 22K and 24K mean

Purity is measured in carats out of 24. 24 carat is 99.9% pure gold, hallmarked 999, and is used for coins, bars and investment. 22 carat is 91.6% pure, hallmarked 916, alloyed with a little other metal for hardness, and is the standard for jewellery. We also show 18 carat (750) on city pages where it applies. Silver is reported as a straight per-weight rate.

Why cities differ

The same metal can carry a slightly different retail rate from city to city. Local jeweller association rates, state and local taxes, transport, and local demand all nudge the price. The differences are usually small. We show each city's own indicative rate so you can compare rather than assume a single national number.

How often we refresh

Rates are refreshed daily. Because gold and silver move through the trading day, the figure here is a daily reference, not a live tick. For the exact price at the moment you buy or sell, confirm with your local jeweller.

What the price excludes

The rates shown are the metal price only. They exclude GST (currently 3% on gold) and the jeweller's making charges, which vary by design and shop. Your final bill will therefore be higher than the per-gram rate here. Nothing on this site is investment advice.

We would rather be corrected than wrong. If a rate looks off for your city, tell us using the form below, or email corrections@goldsilverrate.in. We will check it against the source and fix it.
